There is the restaurant in Mitane Town, it takes about an hour by car from Akita station. We tend to pass by there on trip because it’s a small town. But our family found it when we drop by farmer’s market. This is Sakura-Tei(さくら亭).
The restaurant operates the meat shop too at the next to it. Mainly the horse meat is popular to the customers. There are tables, counters, and tatami room. You can choose seats you like. We every time choose the table next to fireplace! It makes us more relaxing.

There is a lot of ingredients, especially vegetables, we buy it every Autumn, it’s green onion! It is useful for Nabe, Soba, Udon, and Kiritanpo which is the traditional Nabe in Akita. It is especially thick and the longest I’ve ever find, more than 1.3 meter!
We can’t find it like this in other places, only there! It’s great not only size but also the taste! It tastes soft and moist than the others. It’s good for roasting with salt too! We ate it making Sukiyaki in this time.
Every time I find the good place to get the fresh foods, I feel Akita is the best place to be healthier from inside of body! If you have the opportunity to drive around there, check them!
